Necklace of Prayer Beads

From ALPG 2026.2 (pg. 5):

Necklace of Prayer Beads. Use “Random Number of Uses.” Before carrying a Bead of Wind Walk into a session, ask the DM if it might disrupt encounters.

How Many Beads?

From ALPG 2026.2 (pg. 5):

Random Number of Uses. For items requiring a DM’s roll for its number of uses, but not having text specifying that number, the die result you take is no higher than average (half the die’s maximum + 1).

So, if the adventure indicates the number of beads, then it has that number of beads.

Otherwise, for a Necklace of Prayer Beads, 1d4+2 is used for the number of beads. The average roll of 1d4+2 is 4. So an “unspecified” Necklace of Prayer Beads will have 4 beads.

Which Beads?

The DM rolls for the actual beads as instructed in the item description.

Bead of Wind Walk

If your prayer beads includes the Wind Walk bead, consult with your DM beforehand to ensure it won’t be disruptive.

White Plume Mountain

The Necklace of Prayer Beads is valid as-is because it specifies that it has 6 beads.
