Epic Boon Feats and Legacy Epic Boons

The 2024 rules now have “Epic Boon” feats that characters can use once they reach level 19. How do these interact with legacy Epic Boons that were awarded in AL adventures?

The Rules

ALPG 2026.2 (page 2):

BLESSING, BOON, & CHARMS The number of Boon (from play or advancement) […] carried into each session must be limited, using the table below.

And the Boon column says “1” for T4.

The key part is the “from play or advancement”.

So, you can choose between an Epic Boon feat taken at level 19 OR one of your rewarded boons, but not both.

Boons Reprinted as Feats

Whether Boons that have been reprinted as Epic Boon feats continue to be usable is unclear. The ALPG does not say anything about it, and the AL admins have not made a clear ruling yet.

Update 2026-06-15

Ma’at (AL Admin) said this:

Your paladin may keep boons rewarded from adventures, but they may only choose to carry one of them, using the ALPG “Prepare Before a Session: Blessing, Boon, & Charms” and “Use Most-Current Content.” We cannot carry two+ boons into a session. And if the boon is now an Epic Boon feat, it can’t be rewarded from the adventure (ALPG’s “In a Session: Supernatural Gifts”).

Since this message was in #al-dm-discussion, it could be interpreted as “unofficial”. However, the intention of the AL admins is clear: if the boon has been rewritten as a feat, it’s unavailable in the non-feat version going forward.

I have asked to make this more clear in the ALPG if it is indeed the intention.
