Optional Update

This update has been ruled optional.

From the AL Admins:

Dungeons & Dragons: World of Warcraft Options Update

We’ve heard feedback on a couple items, and would like to issue a clarification and a policy exception that we are going to apply here for Adventurers League.

We appreciate your quick responses and consideration as we evolve how we integrate rules from Universes Beyond products now and in the future!

World of Warcraft® will not be added as a playable setting in D&D Adventurers League, nor will playable adventures in the products be adapted for AL play. Our playable settings remain Forgotten Realms, Ravenloft, Dragonlance, and Eberron. Greyhawk remains exclusively a playable setting in Legends of Greyhawk.

Players who have characters with the following options that were updated from 5e in Dungeons & Dragons: World of Warcraft® may choose to update to 5.5e or remain with their existing builds.

If these options appear in a non-Universes Beyond product in the future, the standard campaign guidance will apply (you must update to the most recently printed version of the rule).

  • Path of the Spiritual Guardian (Barbarian) (updated from Path of the Ancestral Guardian)
  • Warrior of Mystic Brews (Monk) (updated from Way of the Drunken Master)
  • Swashbuckler (Rogue)
  • Goblin species

(This update was added to the Organized Play Update: Dungeons & Dragons: World of Warcraft® article)
