The rules for trading magic items can be found on page 3 of ALPG 2026.2 (see Documents). Below is an expanded explanation, including some edge cases and additional information that addresses common questions.

The Rules

Characters may trade magic items between each other.

When making a trade:

Consumables (potions, spell scrolls, etc.) cannot be traded. Non-magical items cannot be traded. Gold (money) cannot be traded.

You can trade magic items between two of your own characters. Each character still pays 5 Downtime Days.

Two characters participating at the same table can trade magic items. Each character still pays 5 Downtime Days.

Only items of the following rarities can be traded:

Magical items of any other rarity cannot be traded (eg. Unique, Artifact).

Magical items that were created by the character, either through spells, class features, a Bastion, or using consumables, cannot be traded.

Some examples:
